History
Dragons, unicorns, and elves have become nothing more than creatures of fantasy and fairy tales in the minds of mankind. Magic and all magical creatures were born from the pairing of the God Oberon and the Goddess Titania. Humanity admired the various creatures with awe and wonder, and in the early days of mankind, the magical creatures dominated the fledgling human civilizations around the world. As humanity matured however and developed more advanced knowledge and weaponry, the magical creatures came under attack and the populations began quickly dwindling by the medieval period, and was decimated worldwide as the age of exploration took off.
Rykan was born to the ruling monarchs, King Ivar and Queen Aurora. They ruled over the kingdom of Alatea. Alatea was the seat of power, ruling over all of the fae, and with time would become the singular fae city in the world as humanity encroached further into the forests, jungles, and mountain ranges of the planet. Rykan’s parents had seen the rise of humanity and the fall of their own people, as well as magic and magical creatures in general; becoming cautious and protective over their people, especially their son, so they forbid any of their people from leaving the city.
Destined to become the future king of Alatea, Rykan spent his childhood being instructed by the wisest tutors and the most skilled warriors. Eventually though, the adventurous, rebellious, and curious spirit that dwells in all fae won out, and he left the city to explore the world at large. If he was to rule, he felt he needed to understand the world first…
